We had a great time on our fishing trip to South Dakota. We enjoyed our stay at Allen’s lodge. The service was excellent and the fishing was fantastic! The hotel was dated, but clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it to anyone!
Stayed here 09/06 and 07 2023 , it's not perfect but the owner and family were so nice and have free beer and drinks , it's the best I have ever slept in a motel !!!! , I'm from Ohio and it was a once in a lifetime to visit South Dakota and glad we came across this motel , happy fishing everyone and hope your stay was as nice as mine was.
We used just the guide service for walleye. We did not stay in the motel. The owner Allen was a real nice guy, we called only a few days in advance and at that moment they were able to accommodate us. The guide we had was great, all the boats were nice, caught our limit by 1pm, they cleaned the fish for us and bagged them. At the end there was a nice snack table with refreshments! Great price and nice people- would book a guide service here again without hesitation.
We've used guides here and bought bait and supplies here. It's one of those places that could use updates, but it just wouldn't be the same if it got them. If that makes sense. Gary will always give you just enough info that you should catch fish. We'll likely stop here every time we fish the area.
We had an awesome day on the river. Our guide, Eric was incredible. We will definitely be back again. The area is beautiful. We had two of my grandchildren along and we caught enough fish to fill out, and returned so many to the river that they had a blast. As a grandpa, fishing with his son and two grandchildren........ PRICELESS
There is a BIG difference between dirty, and old. This place is old, maybe built in the 60s or 70s. But it is clean, not sparkling new, but clean. If you're a person that insists on a sterile place to sleep, then stick with a known chain and pay the price. This place is great for anyone who wants to pay less, and wants to meet interesting people. Captivating and charming without trying to be. Authentic small town Midwest atmosphere.
If you enjoy fishing and hunting this is a place for you. The rooms are not fancy but do the job for sleeping and getting out of the weather. Mini fridge included TV, microwave and more.
My husband and I stopped at our 1 year anniversary trip at the Motel. Nothing fancy, but clean and people are very friendly and welcoming. The owners helped us with the best fishing spots around the lake even we did not book a tour. Definitely will be back. Micky & Anthony
